La Amistad Adult Campus

La Amistad Behavioral Health Services in Central Florida provides an Adult Program that offers a confidential, structured program of support and therapy. The psychiatric treatment program places primary emphasis on building healthy relationships, facilitating personal growth and independence, and teaching coping skills to deal with the emotional and biological problems that have rendered the individual incapable of normal functioning in the home, work and/or school environment.

The Adult Mental Health Program is offered as a residential or partial hospitalization (day treatment) program. This program serves individuals with serious behavioral, emotional, family, school and social problems. Typical behavioral health problems treated include:

  • Bipolar disorder
  • Dual diagnosis (substance abuse)
  • Behavioral disorders
  • Sexual/physical abuse
  • Post-Tramatic Stress Disorder
  • Depression
  • Schizophrenia
  • Personality disorders
  • Anxiety
  • ADHD

Strong family involvement is recommended, encouraged through family therapy, frequent visits and telephone calls. Conference calls with the facility staff, patient and family enhance work with geographically distant families.

  • Medication management
  • Individual, family and group therapy
  • Community group for peer issues
  • Specialized therapy groups to include trauma and chemical recovery
  • On-site NA and AA groups (closed meetings)
  • Therapeutic outings and field trips
  • Adventure/recreation therapy
  • Computer access
  • Music therapy
  • Vocational assessment
  • Wellness center
