La Amistad Behavioral Health Services’ Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) offers immediate access to a safe, structured environment but enables the client to return home at night and maintain important family relationships. The program takes place at our facility which is minutes away from Orlando, FL. It is designed for clients who require coordinated, intensive, comprehensive and interdisciplinary treatment. This program also benefits the individual making a transition from inpatient or residential care back into the community or supplements the healing process for clients who have failed to respond adequately to traditional outpatient treatment.
The Partial Hospitalization Program is provided Monday through Friday for six hours each day and offers:
Family involvement is a vital part of the treatment process in the Partial Hospitalization Program. Because the client returns home each night, it is important that family members become actively involved in the therapeutic process. Licensed therapists educate family members on the treatment goals and needs, as well as assist them in working through their own feelings. The therapist will try to accommodate family schedules to arrange weekly family therapy sessions.
All programs are supervised by Board Certified psychiatrists. The treatment team also includes master or doctorate level therapists, psychiatric nurses, certified teachers and recreational therapists, psychiatric assistants and a case manager.
The client that is most appropriate for this level of care may have impairment in psychosocial functioning or a psychiatric condition that has deteriorated. This individual requires frequent and intensive monitoring of behavior and/or medication without the need for 24-hour structure, monitoring and nursing care.
La Amistad offers separate Partial Hospitalization Programs for:
Adolescents, ages 12-17
Adults, 18 and older
