La Amistad has been helping people regain control of their lives for more than 40 years. We are a voluntary, 45-bed psychiatric and addiction treatment center for adults 18 and up in Winter Park, Florida.

At La Amistad, you’ll find:
- Evidence-based therapies: We draw on a range of treatments to help you heal. Treatments include trauma-informed therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and various wellness services, including art, equine and horticulture therapy. We focus on your wellness and personal growth.
- Skilled providers: The experienced staff at La Amistad is by your side throughout treatment. We have board-certified psychiatrists, licensed therapists, an addiction medicine specialist and a nursing staff available at all times. You establish long-term relationships with your providers built on mutual trust, respect and honesty.
- Care for co-occurring conditions: Mental health disorders and substance use disorders often occur together. We treat these co-occurring disorders by exploring how past trauma or other psychological issues fuel addiction. Our in-depth approach is highly effective. Our Levels of Care
At La Amistad, we meet you where you’re at in your recovery journey. We offer several levels of care, and our clinicians recommend the most appropriate program for your needs:
- Residential program: During residential rehabilitation, you live at our treatment center for several weeks or months for intensive therapy. If you’ve just finished short-term inpatient stabilization, you can step down to our residential program.
- Partial hospitalization program (PHP): In our adult partial hospitalization program, you no longer stay overnight but take part in structured outpatient therapy on our campus for seven to eight hours each day, five days a week.
- Intensive outpatient program (IOP): You have several hours of outpatient therapy each week as you become more independent and transition back into your community. We offer in-person and virtual adult IOP for people in our mental health program. Our substance abuse IOP program is in-person only.
Our Programs for Adults
Our mental health and substance abuse programs for adults are voluntary. We encourage and expect our patients to want treatment and to play an active role in their care. Our goal is to uncover the root cause of the disorder you have and give you the tools you need to heal.
Mental Health Treatment Program

Substance Abuse Treatment Program

Military Program
